Monitor Cleaning Solution
- When cleaning contact lenses, the first step is often to apply a few drops of cleaning solution to the surface and rub gently for about 20 seconds. The solution and the rubbing work together to loosen any debris, which is then rinsed off with saline solution. The next step? Disinfection and storage.
- A person who observes a process or activity to check that it is carried out fairly or correctly, esp. in an official capacity
- keep tabs on; keep an eye on; keep under surveillance; "we are monitoring the air quality"; "the police monitor the suspect's moves"
- admonisher: someone who gives a warning so that a mistake can be avoided
- A person operating such an instrument or device
- proctor: someone who supervises (an examination)
- An instrument or device used for observing, checking, or keeping a continuous record of a process or quantity
Installing a wind turbine @ The Time Factory
A local business owner believes he has uncovered the solution to rising energy costs.
Jim Purcell, president of calendar manufacturer The Time Factory, for three years has researched potential ways to help lower his $12,000-a-year electricity bill.
Wind power may be the answer, he believes.
Last week, Canadian company Entegrity Wind Systems installed a 100-foot, $225,000 turbine outside the calendar maker's Pike Township facility.
Entegrity employee Richie Moutoux said the turbine was the first the company has installed in Indiana. In the past, Entegrity has built about 20 a year, but Moutoux said the orders, mostly from schools and small companies, are beginning to pick up.
After grants and tax incentives, Purcell believes the turbine will pay for itself in less than a decade.
"The tower is rated for 30 years," he said. "After eight years, almost all of our power will be free and clean."
Indianapolis Power & Light Co. will purchase extra energy the turbine creates, but Purcell probably won't completely eliminate his monthly electricity bill considering his huge investment, according to IPL account executive Dave Simpson. The utility plans to monitor Purcell's future energy use as a case study for other businesses that may be interested in harnessing the wind.
Purcell is banking his investment will pay off not only in lower energy costs, but also in increased business from environmentally conscious businesses and consumers.
"Ultimately it's up to the end user," Purcell said. "Customers are going to have to mandate they want to buy from green companies."
The turbine also is turning out to be an attraction on its own, Purcell said.
"Since we put it up, we've had about 50 people pull into our parking lot and just stare at it," he said.
Ps: Unfortunately the notes aren't working right now (due to the new flickr design) =/ Hope they gonne find a solution soon.
PPS: Works again...
Well, yep, that's my bag, I used to have this bag during my army time and it's great. So, after this time I bought one and it's very good to carry photo equipment. You can easily adjust the volume (to carry less) and the belly belt is a great invention.
Four lenses for one camera in one bag are to many, but, if I have to use both cameras it's useful, to have some more, I think.
The weight of 10kg (?23 lbs) is.... well, a good physical training (what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger).
If I operate/shoot in a confined area I use to take the 100-400mm lense bag and the camera with me (and the tripod if necessary). I stow away the rest into save places (vehicles etc). Espacially when I shoot at incidents of the fire dept. And that's the main reason I carry that much stuff with me, you never know when things happen(fire calls, or whatever), so I choosed to be prepared for many things.
