A “saintly” old candy store owner is on the lam---and bounty hunter extraordinaire Stephanie Plum is on the case. As the body count rises, Stephanie finds herself dealing with dead drug dealers and slippery fugitives on the chase of her life. And with the help of eccentric friends and family, Steph must see to it that this case doesn’t end up being her last. . . .
As readers of Janet Evanovich's two previous books about funny, feisty, family-tied bounty hunter Stephanie Plum already know, she operates in "the burg"--a "comfy residential chunk of Trenton, New Jersey, where houses and minds are proud to be narrow and hearts are generously wide open." On this turf, Plum fights for justice and fashion points--this time in pursuit of a beloved neighborhood candystore owner who seems to be moonlighting as an anti-drug vigilante. Evanovich now lives in New Hampshire, but authentic affection for Trenton energizes her prose. Plums in paperback include One for the Money and Two for the Dough.
GALA Magazine..March 1956...Brandee Kayse...How to Get Your Girl....
I bought this big two-story custom van back when I was married. I forgot to tell you this, it was getting kinda cool, it had the James Bond couch in the back, when you push a button, the couch automatically turns into a bed, and I was like, "Well, that's cool." I finally got something over those Mercedes-Benz-driving in-laws of mine, you know what I mean? When I first bought the van, I was real proud of it. I took it straight over to my brother-in-law's house to show it off, 'cause he's such a prick. He takes one look at my new van and he goes [in snobbish accent] "I can't believe you didn't buy a Mercedes-Benz." They don't make a van. "Ron, I don't think you fully understand the intricacies of Mercedes-Benz engineering. Why, I got the three-inch windshield wiper that keeps my headlight clean in a rainstorm." I got a place to f**k your sister. I don't know why they didn't like me. ....Ron White ....a/k/a Tater Salad...
How Dirty Boys Get Clean
A regular and obviously uncalled for punishment in this house- Neville gets a bath. From left to right:
1. The terrible word is uttered, "BATH!"
2. The threat is met with wet and watery disregard for a puppy's wants (or lack there of)
3. A shivery cold puppy must be dried. A welcome warmth, but still frightening experience.
4. Fluffed and puffed it is time to beg for treats - wait, is mom getting her camera, AGAIN?
5. Okay, I'll pose for your picture, but this is a yogurt drop level affliction after such treatment.
6. Okay, last shot. This puppy is SO spending the rest of the night sitting with DAD!!
